Web Search Engines
Online search engines like Yahoo, Google and MSN allow web users to find sites based on keyword searches. These searches are done by comparing the keywords entered by the user against keywords maintained on the site. Developing a good set of keywords for your site is critical. When creating your site, I will develop an initial list based on the content. Additional words should be added to this list. They should include words and phrases specific to your site or practice such as common procedures or surgeries you perform, illnesses and conditions you treat and specialized instruments or tools you use. It is critical that this list be completed prior to the site being implemented on the web, so please provide this list when you give your final approval of the site design.
There are millions of web sites competing for high rankings on search engines. Generic searches such as "Doctors in Somerset County NJ" or "Bistros with Outdoor Dining" may return 100s of matches. By including more specific keywords on your page, you increase the chances that your site will be returned in searches, but there are no guarantees. We will do our best to optimize your site for these engines, but site placement is out of our control.
Patient Forms
Including forms on your website is very advantageous to your patients. By printing and filling in the information prior to visiting you office reduces frustration. This is especially true of older patients who often need help from family members to complete the forms.
Web formats may not exactly match your current forms due to page size limitations, but all of the same information will be available. You will have final approval of the online forms prior to implementation. Please due not confuse these forms with others you have seen on the internet for online shopping or registration. Developing truly electronic forms like these would violate current HIPPA privacy laws. The forms on your site will be printed by the patient on their computer, manually completed by hand and brought to your office by the patient at the time of their visit.
Web printing is a relatively new technology. On older browsers, printed forms may not format or print properly. Our forms are designed to function properly on 95%+ of today's internet browsers. For the few older browsers not supported, a message is included on the page telling them to call the office directly for copies of the forms.
